2021 End of Year PSA For Parents

I hope you are well and safe while reading this…

This post is purposely bland in appearance to ensure the message isn’t overshadowed by excess visual appeal.

With all of the “freedoms” our CHILDREN are being given in today’s society, don’t forget, you are STILL in charge. Everyone has comments about toxic behavior of our parents/grandparents, etc. and how it made us this and that. Gentle parenting has been a thing for a while now, yet Ethan Crumbley still intentionally killed four of his classmates, and injured six others and a staff member with the weapon his parents got him for Christmas AFTER they “asked” him not to do it. I wonder if they took him to Burger King?

Everything AIN’T for every parent, nor is it for every child. The same society that damns you for not acquiescing to the whims of popular societal culture, will sentence your child to life in prison at 15 for being in the area of a crime; involuntarily contracting your child to 50+ years of indentured servitude (slavery). I know, slavery is a thing of the past. Go off! Make sure you’re there to testify on behalf of the 12 gentlemen arrested a few days ago in the federal anti-slavery investigation for the Latin and Central American “employees” they’ve been utilizing in Georgia to amass millions in onion farming (just eww).

Don’t cross over into 2022 doing the same insane things you barely made it through 2021 doing. These cheerleading uniforms turn into robes, gavels, and corrections officers in no time flat. The same people yelling epithets and calling a Black man (criminal though he was) a roach, caught on their OWN surveillance system, and (of course) claiming medical distress and complete amnesia… Let me leave that one there…

Every year we promise ourselves growth and dedication to change and prosperity. We post all of our verbs and affirmations on every social media platform for “accountability” as if some internet stranger is really rooting for us. Maybe a few of them are, but the word few is loud if you’re listening. Try pulling back a little bit in 2022. Tighten your circle and survey the village you’re a part of. How are you contributing to your village? How is your village sustaining through all of these changes we see? What are the mental and physical health statuses of your matriarch/patriarch?

Today’s generation may not care much for elders, but a few of us know the elders have the cheat codes and roadmaps on their knees, backs, hands, and hearts in the form of experiential scar tissue. We NEED that wisdom. That wisdom is the 20/20 vision that only hindsight can provide. And without a vision, our people will perish.

Protect your children’s peace and innocence.
